Baby Checklist

Baby’s Nursery

The nursery should be included in your baby checklist. This is a place of comfort, feeding, nurturing and bonding with your baby. You will definitely have fun and enjoy as you decorate and furnish the nursery of the baby. You can choose different kinds of pastel colors depending on the gender of your baby. You can also include decors such as cartoon characters, marine life, teddy bears, angels and bunnies in the nursery. There must be a lot of cozy and comfortable furniture or features in your baby’s nursery.

Baby Bedding

The bedding of your baby must be very safe and comfortable for your child. The materials you choose for your baby’s bedding must be quality, fluffy, and breathable materials. You must put your baby to sleep on his or her back on a comfortable and flat mattress. The baby bedding where you make your baby sleep must meet the safety standards for baby beds. You must make sure that the crib of your child has high quality and does not have any lose hardware. Take note that you must never put the bed near curtain cords or window blinds.

Feeding

When it comes to breastfeeding, it would be best to have a few bottles and your nipples. If your baby does not latch on your nipples, then it would be good to have breast pump. This will help you store extra milk to feed your baby next time. You can have bottles that are glass or plastic, or you can have bottles that are pre-sterilized and disposable. Bottles with irregular shapes will be very difficult to clean, it would be best to avoid these kinds of bottles. You must properly sterilize the bottles before using. You can also put pads on your breast to stop the milk from leaking. However, it would be best not to wear these pads all the time to enable thrush.

Bathing and Health

You must make sure that all the things around your baby are clean and disinfected. You can use water and regular soap to clean these things for the first few weeks. Make sure you check the temperature of the water before you put your child in the bath tub. Water alone can already clean your bathtub, if you use other products, make sure they do not have any harsh ingredients or synthetic fragrance. A “no-more-tears” shampoo and a milder agent would be best for your baby. When it comes to medicines, you can ask your pediatrician for any prescriptions.

Diaper

You must have as many diapers as possible with you because you will have to change your baby 12 times a day. Buying a lot of packages at one time would be more advisable. Cloth diaper would be best at home while disposable diapers would be best if you go out with your baby.  Make sure the diaper you choose will keep his or her skin dry and clean to avoid any rashes. Use warm water instead of wipes in cleaning the skin of your baby. Your baby must also have clean clothes and clothes that will make it easier for you to change diapers with.
